Val Killpack

Val most recently completed yoga teacher training with Karen Anderson, a long-time student of Richard Freeman and Dharma Mittra. He has studied with many teachers over the past twenty years; he currently practices in the Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga tradition of the Pattabhi Jois lineage. He teaches a slower, alignment-based adaptation of the primary and intermediate series. He has studied and practiced Soto Zen Buddhism in the Shunryu Suzuki Roshi lineage for many years, and he brings intentions of mindfulness, concentration, and expansive mind into the practice space. He focuses on the Tristhana Methodology: deep breathing, gaze and attention, and postural alignment (internal and external). Val believes that, “Through regular practice, one can find a sense of liberation and freedom—both on the mat and in the world.”
